Research Project Officer
Action Research Project - Based in St James Hospital
Developing a Framework for Palliative Interventions in Advanced Respiratory Disease in Ireland.
This research project is part of the implementation of the Palliative Care for All Report (2008), which sought to examine how palliative care can extend to people with diseases other than cancer.
Based in St James Hospital, the post will be in collaboration with Our Lady’s Hospice Home Care Team and the Local Primary Care Team. The Irish Hospice Foundation, with the support of the Irish Thoracic Society and the HSE wish to recruit the following post;
Research Project Officer
0.50 WTE Fixed Term Temporary 2-Year Project Post (17.5 hours per week)
This is a part time position and will extend over two years. The aim of the project is to devise, implement and evaluate appropriate palliative care responses for people with Advanced Respiratory Disease.
Essential
- Clinical qualification in medical, nursing or allied health professions.
- Experience of working with people with respiratory disease
- Experience in undertaking health research.
- Experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience of change management
Desirable
- Post Grad H-Dip / Masters Degree in relevant area.
- Experience and/or knowledge of Palliative Care.
- Knowledge of organisations supporting people with advanced respiratory disease and terminal illness.
