Complementary & Creative Arts Therapies
The Complementary & Creative Arts Therapy (CCAT) services are a central element to the emotional, spiritual and psychological support provided to patients of the Palliative Care services (In-Patient and Day Hospice) and the Older Person Residential Services.
The care provided to the patients is individualised and adapted to their health needs. The CCAT team work as part of the multi-disciplinary team. The aim of the service is to provide comfort and support to enhance quality of life and well being.
Art Therapy is a process by which individuals can gain a clearer understanding of themselves by exploring difficult thoughts and feelings through the use of art materials.
Music Therapy is a predominantly non-verbal process using music and sound as a basis for intervention .It offers a secure space for self-expression and development and allows a therapeutic relationship to develop.
Written referrals are made through the Multi disciplinary team this can include self-referral. Information brochures are available in each area.
