Rheumatology
The unit provides care and treatment for people of all ages with arthritis and other bone and muscle diseases. Over 800 patients are admitted annually.
There is on-site provision of medical, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, medical social work, pharmacy and plain x-ray radiology services. The unit is linked by computer to St. Vincent's University Hospital for pathology and advanced radiology services.
The multidisciplinary team is consultant-led, evidence-based and patient-centred.
Referrals to the Centre are through the Rheumatology Consultants in St. Vincent’s University Hospital.
